Welcome to Glasgow Toastmasters

Whatever your goals in life may be, your success depends on your ability to communicate. Our club is a non-profit organisation that helps its members to improve their public speaking, presentation skills, communication and leadership skills. We are based in Glasgow city centre, Scotland, and we are affiliated to Toastmasters International. Our club number is 7574 and we are part of Area 30 in District 71. This site highlights the benefits of membership of Glasgow Toastmasters and our meetings which help our members achieve their goals.

If you are interested in finding out more, you are very welcome to come along to a meeting as a guest, and see what we do. This doesn't cost anything, and there is no pressure for you to speak unless you want to. Contact us for further details, or simply show up at the next meeting.

Meetings have a friendly and supportive atmosphere. There's no dress code, so just come along as you are.

We have our regular meetings at 7pm on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, if there is a 5th Tuesday in the month we often have an additional event.  Meetings are held in Jurys Inn, 80 Jamaica Street, Glasgow, G1 4QG.  View map and more information about the venue.

We hope to see you soon!

Reasons To Enhance Your Communication Skills at Glasgow Toastmasters

  1. Good communicators, says a leading management consultant, are seen as more effective and more powerful than their less eloquent counterparts.
  2. Persuasive speaking is an important and valued skill. It helps you to put ideas across, make more sales, give successful presentations, gain promotion and do your work more effectively.
  3. It also affects people's perceptions of you in meetings, on the telephone and in one-to-one relationships.
  4. Whatever your goals may be, much of your success in life depends on your ability to communicate effectively. Virtually every executive position advertised specifies the need for communication skills, which are generally regarded as key elements in building a successful career.
  5. Toastmasters International provides the tools to develop these important skills. In Toastmasters, you learn by doing, by speaking to groups in comfortable and supportive surroundings, rather than a sterile classroom environment.
  6. The Toastmasters programme has proved itself around the world. Globally, more than three million people of all ages and occupations have taken part, and gross membership of Toastmasters International increases at a rate of about 250 people a day. There are more than 220,000 members in more than 11,300 clubs in approximately 90 countries.
